For the last few weeks, I've been pondering AI, attempting vibe coding, and generally trying to make sense of how AI impacts web development while sifting through the unlimited opinions and hot takes.
For tech, I've distilled it down to the phrase: "We're used to being the disruptors, not the disrupted."
But while AI is ["a tool", "a side show", "a fad", "the evil empire", "going to put developers out of work"], it's not even close to the most important thing we all do day-to-day. Building cool projects is.
With that in mind, I have a some cool new stuff to share with you today about Craft CMS. Read on!
🇩🇪 Intro to Multi-Language Sites with Craft CMS
Guest author Moritz L'Hoest put together a new course that's a gentle introduction on how to plan and configure a Craft CMS project for multi-language.
Moritz is the first person I thought of when planning this course, and I'm thrilled he worked on this with CraftQuest!
This short course will orient you and set you off on a path to success with your first multi-language build. It's available now for premium members!
This new collection of information on Craft is designed to help anyone working with Craft CMS to look up and learn terminology, concepts, and tools that make up the Craft CMS ecosystem.
It's always a work in progress, so let me know if you think a term should be added, and I'll give you credit and a link back!
On a recent livestream, I gave a short presentation with my take on AI, how I think it should or shouldn't be used, and, most importantly, how to use it in a way that can aid learning.
I re-recorded that presentation as a standalone video, because I felt like I could deliver my thoughts a bit clearer and thoughtfully after going through the material on the livestream. That being said, you should also watch the livestream version because it also has thoughtful, helpful, and interesting back-and-forth between me and Andrew on the topic.
On Thursday is the next CraftQuest Casual livestream, and I'll take the output from Claude during the CraftQuest on Call vibe coding challenge and see if it works. It's a laid back livestream at a time that's hopefully convenient for those outside of the USA!
