Yesterday was the Dot One single-day conference in Melbourne, Australia. The talks looked great and I heard about some new features coming to Craft CMS. Unfortunately, I wasn't there, but I will be at Dot All in Lisbon, Portugal in September!
In fact, Andrew Welch and I are co-presenting a talk called Dueling Developers where we will each take a different approach to coding the same feature, and present our work. As you might have witnessed in the CraftQuest on Call livestream, there will be the usual friendly banter and perhaps the occasional side eye.
I hope to see you there in Lisbon!
⚙️ Introduction to Extending Craft CMS
I am revamping a lot of my core material, and I'm starting with a series of courses and videos on extending Craft CMS. I'm building an entirely new Quest (or learning pathway) for this, so it's easier to step through building up skills from zero to building your first project.
This is a survey-level guide to how to extend Craft CMS. We look at the different ways you can extend Craft, compare plugins, private plugins, and modules, and learn the different parts of Craft extensions.
The first two videos in the course are up right now, and they are perfect for you if you've never extended Craft CMS before and want to get familiar. More videos coming soon, but now is the time to get started!
CraftQuest is entirely supported by the community of smart premium members. This is a great time on to hop onboard and join us, as we learn new techniques, best practices, and tips and tricks from the pros of Craft CMS and modern web development. Get access to our members-only Discord and every single video in the catalog.
The only better day than today to start learning was yesterday, but that's already past. So, grab a free trial today and get access to everything in our catalog.
🇩🇪 Introduction to Multi-Language Sites with Craft CMS
In keeping with creating new learning pathways for core topics, last month we released a new course that's a gentle introduction on how to plan and configure a Craft CMS project for multi-language. The course is authored Moritz L'Hoest, who is a frequent contributor in the Craft CMS Discord, and has built many, many multi-language sites with Craft CMS.
Moritz is the first person I thought of when planning this course, and I'm thrilled he worked on this with CraftQuest!
This short course will orient you and set you off on a path to success with your first multi-language build. It's available now for premium members!
This new collection of information on Craft is designed to help anyone working with Craft CMS to look up and learn terminology, concepts, and tools that make up the Craft CMS ecosystem.
It's always a work in progress, so let me know if you think a term should be added, and I'll give you credit and a link back!
