Installing Craft 6

We’re still almost a year away from the full Craft 6 release, but now is a good time to get famil­iar with it, and look at the changes between Craft 5 and Craft 6.

To be clear: If you’re start­ing a new Craft project, every­thing you know about build­ing Craft sites still applies — but the foun­da­tion under­neath has changed.

Also, Craft 5 will have 5 years of long term sup­port start­ing next year, so there’s no need to wor­ry or rush about adopt­ing Craft 6. 

How­ev­er, since Craft 6 will be built on Lar­avel, I think it’s inter­est­ing to inves­ti­gate how this all works and what the project struc­ture will look like.

In this video, I’m going to walk you through set­ting up a brand new Craft 6 project from scratch. We’ll install it, explore the struc­ture, and under­stand how it inte­grates with Laravel.
